Time for a break

After having reached a part of my goal ($250) I have decided to take a small break from online poker, since I have very limited time at the moment ...

Only popping in for some small tournaments when time allows it ...

From Ladbrokes to Paradise

The Land of Opportunities ... or what ??? Even the name sounds much better: Paradise :o)

To be more precise, I have changed to Sporting Odds again. And already I feel lucky again.

BR is now up to $395 again ... still playing the NL 0.5/1 tables ...

Playing too many hands...

I managed to increase my stacks a little yesterday ... keeping focus and only playing one table at a time. BUT.....

I have figured out that I play too many hands. I, of course, play the premium hands and try to stick to these, but I might not be quick enough to play them down when the board turns against me. I might be too aggressive in trying to bluff the others out of the pot. I might even be playing a few too many marginal hands as well ... and forgetting to lay them down.

The result ?? I still make a few bucks on the tables ... but far from enough ;o)

New plan: Stick to the Premium hands (Level 1).

Mission Possible

$169 .04 is the numbers in my account.

I actually started out about a week ago with $50 and over the weekend I topped at $402 ... Then where is the money, you might ask? I simply lost my concentration, tried to play two talbes at a time, thought I juuuuust wanted to increase my BR with another 100 bucks in a few seconds and
lost 250 in 20 minutes .... stupid me!!

Now I have a target: $1000

This should be accomplished by playing 0.5/1 No Limit Holdem poker at Ladbrokes. You probably already argues that I should start with a bigger BR before entering a game at this level. Well, you are right ... But I am willing to take a chance.

Freerolls and smaller <$15 buy-in MTT's and a SNG once in a while ... but mainly just for the fun.

May the cards be with me ;o)

PS: I even considered going back to my Limit Poker and try my luck there, but my math skills and concentration span prohobits me from this.

A New Fresh Start

I have put myself on a quest. A mission if you will!

I want to make some money on the tables and logic tells me that I need to focus ... therefore I will use this blog to help me keep focus and note down my thoughts and progress...

Actually this is like a boxin match... it could be over in just a few seconds or last all 15 rounds. You never can tell...

Wish me luck ... I might need it ;o)

Bad start ...

Just realised that this moment in time is not the best to start blogging on my poker experiences, since I have almost lost my internet connection - meaning that the neighbour I steal my WiFi connection from have lowered the quality so much that I am too afraid to start a game more expensive than a freeroll ;o) And even then I still get insanely angry when I get disconnected during a game ...

But then it might be a good idea to set the scene:
I started playing poker in the fall of 2004 - just like any other fish on the online poker tables. So this doesn't make me any different from the 50 million other people out there wanting to make a fast buck on the green tables... but has is then been profitable?? I like to call it 'learning money' ... which in laymen terms means NO!

Looking at my Bank Roll it seems I am down about $800 ... It has been alot worse ... not alot meaning that I owed my kid and car to poker site or the bank. But I think the low peak was at $1500 ... So I have improved significantly over the last months.

I have enjoyed the life as a Bonus Whore ... searching for the free money (which apparently doesn't exist!!) I have been playing everything through Fixed Limit, Pot Limit, Omaha (not a good idea when you don't know what the hell is going on the table), Cash games in all categories and Sit & Go single table tournaments and of course multitable tournaments where I thought I could easily score the grand prize. Did I ??? No, best ranking was a 12th spot in a Freeroll satellite ... no money for me.

Right now I focus on the Sit & Go tournaments - $5, $10 and $20 - and primarily on large 10 seat tables. I have tried to get money at the both the 5, 6 and 8 seat tables ... and even tried Turbo games to see if my concentration then could last through the game. Until I realised that I just needed a lot more discipline when playing. That actually hepled alot.

And now ... just as it was getting better and I could start to see my losses being turned around I lose my internet connection. Should I then invest in my own? ;o) Perhaps ...

The forgotten Blog

Just now I realised that I had set up this blog to communicate on the experiences I make during my poker games .. and give reviews of the places I play ... But i forgot ...

Sorry .... ;o)

This should be the new beginning of an era ... I will start posting again!! I promise... if I get the time between the many games.

Texas Fold'em

First post on a new site is always giving a bit of a trembling feeling when the keys are being hit. This is no exception.

The ambitions for the site are to pass on information about pokersites, give recommendations on where to play, offer information on good bonusses and perhaps give my advice on how to play (or maybe how NOT to play).

I will not present myself as being a Poker God. On the contrary! I started out in the fall of 2004 and have since then played an obscene amount of hours, both online and offline. I even had to teach my girlfriend to play to spend some time with her ;o) ... what a bummer to see her take my money in the beginning!!
